The biggest disease of today is not leprosy or tuberculosis, but rather the feeling of being unwanted… Mother Teresa

Reading from –The Ten Lepers-Luke 17: 11-19

11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” 14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed. 15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—a...

Living in a state by the coast usually means that we take a beach trip during the year. Through the years, I have enjoyed the days spent on the beach: sleeping or playing on the sand. Building sand castles is usually a part of the days activities. "Drip Castles" are my favorite. Letting wet sand dribble from my fingertips creates a cool looking castle. During those days, I have noticed that lots of families are creating their own creations in the sand (even burying a family member or two). Thousands of people are creating medieval abodes up and down the shoreline. Unfortunately, all of it is washed away when the high tide arrives. In seconds, the s...

See Your Goals in Light of God's Will

Christians share the most important goals that a human being can have. Our goals are to develop a close, loving relationship with God, to love God completely, to love others as ourselves, to seek first the Kingdom of God, to receive eternal life,... goals formed out of God's design are the goals that truly matter. Accept a great opportunity today to spend time with God and together set those eternal goals.

Each year, I buy a paper family calendar. Even with all the devices in our house, through the years we have found that the only way to make sure that everyone knows about an event is to put...

A New School year is starting and that is pretty exciting. I know,

not exciting to get up so early, but there are so many possibilities. You have new classes, new teachers, new subjects-just a fresh start. The same is true with each day of life that God gives us. We can start new each morning. We can look at each day as being filled with opportunities. We can use our time to build our relationship with God. We can read the Bible to understand more about God, see how He has loved and cared for human beings since He created them and we can also read about His plan for this world and for His people.  We can connect with Him in prayer. We can share our...

Is Your Body a Temple?

"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."

1 Corinthians 6:19&20

Summer time is here and just like many of you, I love it. Many of us head to the pool or beach to cool off and relax. Those moments on the beach or by the pool are wonderful, but not all of those wonderful moments should be shared on social media. Yes, I know that those times are highlights of the summer. I like seeing a beautiful sunset over the water, a giant sandcastle, a swaying palm, ... the family bea...

March gives us some great opportunities to serve. Youth Sunday is on Sunday, March 11 (set your clocks ahead 1 hour). This special Sunday allows our students to serve other members of our congregation by sharing truths that they are personally discovering while engaging participants in worship.

We will also have the opportunity to prepare and serve an appreciation lunch for everyone after our Morning Worship Service. We will be honoring Harold and Mary Ann Durham, two amazing Youth Workers that have used their talents in culinary arts to support our youth ministry through many delicious dinners. They will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary....

Thanks to Pastor Scott Ross and everyone else who made last week's special meetings a success!

This past Sunday, we were able to witness a special event at Hurricane Creek. Congratulations to Jacob Alcumbrack on his decision to be baptized! We welcome him into the family of our God with much rejoicing!

“Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” -Romans 6:3-4

We had a great week at the FUEL this year! We learned about what is worthy of honor in our lives, including God, the Bible, ourselves, our parents, and others. Congratulations to Minnesota who won the Quizzing Championship this year! Thanks to all the staff who helped make this week a success!

Check out our Fuel Bible Reading Blog for daily devotions written by our Fuel Staff and campers. Continue to grow this year and honor him by daily getting into God's word!

We had an awesome year at SE Camp as we went up the mountain in Blowing Rock, NC and left forever changed. This year's theme was "This is Us," and we learned about Jesus' last week before his death on the cross. We found that even with the 2,000 year separation between us and the people (and plants!) Jesus interacted with we can still find similarities between their lives, problems, and sins and our own. We look at their stories and learn and grow from them. The Juniors enjoyed a fun week at the camp, and our seniors enjoyed a high ropes course excursion on Wednesday.

If you'd like to learn more about what the campers learned, check out the camp jo...
