Starting Fresh

A New School year is starting and that is pretty exciting. I know,

not exciting to get up so early, but there are so many possibilities. You have new classes, new teachers, new subjects-just a fresh start. The same is true with each day of life that God gives us. We can start new each morning. We can look at each day as being filled with opportunities. We can use our time to build our relationship with God. We can read the Bible to understand more about God, see how He has loved and cared for human beings since He created them and we can also read about His plan for this world and for His people. We can connect with Him in prayer. We can share our God and His Son with others.

We can also make our church involvement a priority too. As the New Church Year begins, we can add church time first to our calendars and then fill our time with other stuff. You see God understands "New". In fact, He has a plan to make everything new. In 2 Peter 3:13, it states, "But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells." And not only do we have this incredible kingdom to look forward to but there is more. In Revelation 21:1-3 it states, "Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God."

Not only do we have the joy of having a close, loving relationship with God now, we have the opportunity to spend eternity with our Heavenly Father and our precious Lord Jesus.

So lets embrace this New Church Year and take advantage of each New opportunity!
